Retention

    In Running the trial

Retention is keeping enrolled participants engaged in a trial until they complete it. It depends on practical things — appointment flexibility, travel reimbursement, clear communication — as much as on clinical care. Good retention protects the analysis, because every participant who drops out takes information with them.
