Withdrawal is when a participant stops taking part before completing the trial, whether by their own choice or a clinical decision. The reason is recorded, and the protocol usually asks for specific end-of-treatment assessments. Stopping the study treatment and withdrawing from follow-up are different things, and the difference matters for the analysis.
