Audit trail
In Data & data management
An audit trail is the secure, automatically generated record of who changed what, when, and why in an electronic system. It must not be switchable off by users, and the original value must remain visible alongside the new one. Reviewing audit trails is now a routine part of both monitoring and inspection.
