Data integrity means trial data is complete, consistent, and accurate throughout its life, from first capture to final archive. It covers not just the values themselves but the ability to show where each one came from and what happened to it. Without it, a trial's conclusions cannot be relied on, however well the science was designed.
Why it matters
Almost every serious regulatory finding in clinical research is, at bottom, a data-integrity finding \u2014 records that cannot be trusted to show what really happened.
