Electronic case report form (eCRF)
In Documents & records
An electronic case report form is a case report form completed in a validated electronic system rather than on paper. Built-in checks can flag out-of-range or missing values as data is entered, and every change is captured in an audit trail. It is the normal way trial data is collected today.
Example
A coordinator types a hemoglobin value of 250 g/L; the eCRF immediately raises a range warning, and the coordinator checks the laboratory report before saving.
