The delegation of authority log is the signed record of which trial tasks the principal investigator has delegated to which named staff, and from what date. Everyone listed must be qualified and trained for the tasks they are given. It is one of the first documents a monitor or inspector checks.
Example
If a coordinator took consent on 3 March but the log shows they were only delegated that task from 10 March, that is a finding — the activity was performed without documented authority.
