A clinical data manager is responsible for the quality of a trial's data from capture through to database lock. The CDM helps design the case report form, writes the checks that flag suspicious values, raises and tracks queries with sites, and confirms the database is clean before it is locked. It is a strong fit for people with an eye for patterns and detail.
Example
Reviewing incoming data, a CDM notices one site reports a laboratory value in different units from everyone else and raises queries to correct it before database lock.
