Work instruction (WI)
In Documents & records
A work instruction is a step-by-step document that explains how to carry out one specific task, usually sitting under a broader SOP. Where the SOP says what must happen and who is responsible, the work instruction says exactly which buttons to press. Not every organization uses the term, but the layered structure is common.
