In Running the trial
Screening is the set of assessments done after consent to check whether a person actually meets the eligibility criteria. It can include a medical history, examination, laboratory tests, and imaging. Screening procedures are study-specific, so consent must always come first.
Example
A participant consents on Monday, has screening bloods on Tuesday, and is confirmed eligible on Friday when the central laboratory results arrive.
