Note to file (NTF)

    In Documents & records

A note to file is a short, dated, signed memo placed in the study records to explain something that is not obvious from the documents alone. It might explain a gap, a correction, or an unusual sequence of events. It records an explanation; it does not fix the underlying problem, and using it too often is itself a warning sign.
