Close-out visit (COV)

    In Oversight, quality & inspection

The close-out visit is the final monitoring visit, held once all participants have finished and outstanding issues are resolved. The monitor confirms that data queries are closed, unused investigational product is returned or destroyed, and the site file is complete and ready for archiving. The site is then formally closed for that trial.
