The investigational product is the treatment being tested in a trial, including any placebo or comparator supplied for it. It must be manufactured, labeled, shipped, and stored to defined standards, and used only as the protocol specifies. Handling it correctly is a shared responsibility of the pharmacy, the site team, and the sponsor.
